We follow the doctrines of the Assemblies of God. Salvation, the Baptism in the Holy Spirit, Divine Healing, and the Second Coming of Christ are considered Cardinal Doctrines, which are essential to the church’s core mission of reaching the world for Christ!

First Services
In January 1923, the congregation had its first services in its new building located at 2540 Jefferson Street. The local congregation became affiliated with the General Council of the Assemblies of God in January 1930.
Dedication Service
On May 3, 1959, the dedication service was held for the edifice at 2447 Green Street.
Hurricane Agnes
In June 1972, the Harrisburg areas was hit by Hurricane Agnes. The Green Street building was inundated with 18-feet of water, which caused $75,000 in damage. It was then the Official Board made the decision to erect a new building and the congregation agreed.
New Beginnings
In 1974, 10 1/2 acres were purchased on North Progress Avenue in Susquehanna Township. In October 1976, a groundbreaking service was held and in November, construction began.
A History of Blessings
Harrisburg First Assembly of God remains in the same building that was built on that ground in 1977. Through the years God has blessed us. Hundreds have been saved, healed, and baptized in the Spirit.

We are located in Harrisburg, PA on Progress Ave. We have been in several locations since our beginning in 1922, and have been at our current location since 1977.

When are service times?
We meet for live services on Sundays at 8:30 AM, 10:30 AM, and 6:00 PM. Sunday school is held at 9:30 AM. You are always welcome to watch our latest services online as well.

Do you have a church nursery?
Yes, we have a nursery available for Pre-K aged children.
What ages is children's ministry?
Our children’s ministry is for infants through 6th grade. Our teen ministry is for 7th grade through 12th grade.
Can you pick me up for the service?
Yes! Please call our church office at 717-657-2500 by 6 pm on Saturday to schedule a pick up and we would be happy to help.
